Why Did You Decide to Become a Periodontist?
Dr. Atarchi wanted to choose a career that would allow him to serve his community and patients in need, providing them with high-quality and compassionate oral healthcare. That’s why he often volunteered in community clinics, where he assisted people in need by improving their smiles and oral health. It’s something he’ll never get tired of doing!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Today, Dr. Atarchi is a board-certified periodontist and active member of the American Academy of Periodontology. However, his journey first started in 2001, when he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the College of Dentistry at Baghdad University. He went on to complete specialty training at Saint Louis University Center for Advanced Dental Education, where he earned his Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate in Periodontics. Throughout his career, he held a faculty position as a full-time clinical lecturer at the College of Dentistry at Baghdad University. Today. Dr. Atarchi is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Chicago Dental Association.
Outside of the Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Whenever Dr. Atarchi isn’t at the office, you can find him reading, traveling, and spending time with his family outdoors.
